Extrusion Coating Lamination Machinery:-
The actual process of extrusion coating involves extruding resin from a slot die at temperatures up to 320°C directly onto the moving web which may then passed through a nip consisting of a rubber covered pressure roller and a chrome plated cooling roll. The latter cools the molten film back into the solid state and also imparts the desired finish to the plastic surface. The web is normally run much faster than the speed at which the resin is extruded from the die, creating a coating thickness which is in proportion to the speed ratio and the slot gap.

1. Unwinding for Extrusion Coating Lamination Line
The paperboard is loaded into an unwinding position.
2. Surface treatment forExtrusion Coating Lamination Line
The paperboard surface is pre-treated with an electrical corona discharge. The plastic film can be treated with ozone. These methods increase the adhesion of the plastic to the paperboard.
3. Extrusion coating of Extrusion Coating Lamination Line
Plastic granules such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) are converted by pressure and heat to the molten state in the barrel of the extruder. The molten plastic passes through a narrow slit in the automatically controlled die and onto the surface of the paperboard. The control of temperature is critical. The plastic surface is immediately pressed against the chilled face of a steel roll, controls the finish of the plastic surface. Reverse- side coatings have an NSO (Non-Set-Off) finish and print-side coatings usually have a gloss finish.
4.Extrusion Coating Lamination Line
An unwind station is located immediately after the initial plastic coating is applied. Foil or film can be fed from this position into the nip between the molten plastic film and the chill roll such that the plastic initially performs the functions of an adhesive.
5. Corona treatment in Extrusion Coating Lamination Line
Print-side plastic coatings are subjected to corona treatment to achieve good ink wetting. One-side plastic coatings are also corona treated to improve the sealing characteristics and permit gluing with emulsion adhesives.Additional Information:

Coating Station for Thin Film Extrusion Coating Lamination Plant
The actual process of extrusion coating involves extruding resin from a slot die at temperatures up to 320°C directly onto the moving web which may then passed through a nip consisting of a rubber covered pressure roller and a chrome plated cooling roll. The latter cools the molten film back into the solid state and also imparts the desired finish to the plastic surface. The web is normally run much faster than the speed at which the resin is extruded from the die, creating a coating thickness which is in proportion to the speed ratio and the slot gap.

Extrusion laminating is a similar process except that the extruded hot molten resin acts as the bonding medium to a second web of material.
Process Description for Paper Coating Extrusion Lamination Machine:
In the extrusion coating process an extruder forces melted thermoplastic resin through a horizontal slot-die onto a moving web of substrate. The resulting product is a permanently coated web structure. Extrusion lamination is a similar process to extrusion coating, where the resin is extruded between two substrates and acts as a bonding agent.
Inside an extrusion coating and laminating line the substrates and melt are nipped at a bonding station. This consists of a large roll, a pressure roll, and a counter-pressure roll cooled by water. The combination of the pressure between the rolls and the temperature permits delivery of the correct adhesion level.

Paper board is coated with plastics to combine the me-chemical properties of the paper board with the barrier and sealing properties of plastics. Paper board combined with a relatively small number of plastic materials will provide the extra features needed to make the paperboard suit-able for a number of specially demanding applications. Extrusion coating is a process whereby molten plastic is applied to paperboard and subsequently chilled to form an extremely thin, smooth layer of uniform thickness. The molten plastic can be used as an adhesive to laminate a plastic film or a metal foil.
Coating Process in Lamination Machine:
The actual process of extrusion coating involves extruding resin from a slot die at temperatures up to 320°C directly onto the moving web which may then passed through a nip consisting of a rubber covered pressure roller and a chrome plated cooling roll. The latter cools the molten film back into the solid state and also imparts the desired finish to the plastic surface. The web is normally run much faster than the speed at which the resin is extruded from the die, creating a coating thickness which is in proportion to the speed ratio and the slot gap.

1. Unwinding for HDPE Woven Laminated Bag Machine
The paperboard is loaded into an unwinding position.
2. Surface treatment HDPE Woven Laminated Bag Machine
The paperboard surface is pre-treated with an electrical corona discharge. The plastic film can be treated with ozone. These methods increase the adhesion of the plastic to the paperboard.
3. Extrusion coating of HDPE Woven Laminated Bag Machine
Plastic granules such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) are converted by pressure and heat to the molten state in the barrel of the extruder. The molten plastic passes through a narrow slit in the automatically controlled die and onto the surface of the paperboard. The control of temperature is critical. The plastic surface is immediately pressed against the chilled face of a steel roll, controls the finish of the plastic surface. Reverse- side coatings have an NSO (Non-Set-Off) finish and print-side coatings usually have a gloss finish.
4. Extrusion lamination for HDPE Woven Laminated Bag Machine
An unwind station is located immediately after the initial plastic coating is applied. Foil or film can be fed from this position into the nip between the molten plastic film and the chill roll such that the plastic initially performs the functions of an adhesive.

Print-side plastic coatings are subjected to corona treatment to achieve good ink wetting. One-side plastic coatings are also corona treated to improve the sealing characteristics and permit gluing with emulsion adhesives.
